Position Overview:
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented medical assistant to support our healthcare team in providing outstanding patient care. In this role, you will assist with a variety of clinical and administrative duties, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
This position will be Monday through Thursday
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares patients for the provider by verifying medical information, updating medical history and measuring vital signs.
- Prepares and organizes all paperwork and pervious exams/reports/labs for radiologist prior to patient’s appointment
- Follows up on orders, appointments, referrals, and follow up visits.
- Assist physician by helping with procedures which may include assisting nursing in pre/postop, assisting the technologist in the procedural area with setup and room turnover.
- Assist physicians during angiographic and interventional procedures by preparing and maintaining sterile trays and other equipment, practicing sterile technique, and passing instruments and supplies to the radiologist.
- Maintains efficient patient flow throughout the clinic experience.
- Instructs, escorts, and prepares patients for clinic consults, wound checks, and minor invasive procedures.
- Collect and prepare lab specimens for testing
- Helps check in, check out patients, assist with triaging phone calls.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care
- May assist front office staff, when necessary, assist in opening clinic in the morning prior to patients being seen.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a medical assistant training program or have at least 2 years of work experience in related profession.
- A Medical Assistant (CCMA or CMA) certification is desired but not required.
- BLS certification (Required)
- Previous experience in a fast-paced medical office or healthcare setting is a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment and at times stressful environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic office software (EHR, MS Office, etc.)
- Compassionate, professional, and patient-focused attitude
