Position Overview:
As an RN in our OBL, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care for individuals undergoing interventional radiology procedures. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of interventional radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after their procedures.
This position will be Monday through Thursday
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides pre-procedure telephone instruction and education to patients relating to their procedure.
- Provide direct patient care, including pre-procedure assessments, patient education, and post-procedure recovery monitoring.
- Administer conscious sedation drugs and other medications and conducts appropriate monitoring, assessments, interventions, and documentation as required by policy.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of interventional radiology procedures.
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage patient conditions throughout the procedure.
- Administers emergency drugs and utilizes emergency equipment knowledgeably and appropriately. Responds appropriately and efficiently to emergencies situations.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the entire process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other clinical staff to provide comprehensive care.
- Assist with patient education regarding recovery and follow-up care.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participates in department quality improvement efforts.
- Performs daily equipment, drug and quality assurance checks and documents accordingly. Arranges for replacement of expired or used supplies.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing Program is required
- Current RN licensure in CO
- Minimum of 2+ years of nursing experience; experience in interventional radiology, procedural or critical care settings preferred (ED, ICU, PACU)
- Strong understanding of interventional radiology procedures and protocols is a plus.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
