Position Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging and assisting our interventional radiologists in performing minimally invasive procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing, innovative practice focused on providing exceptional care to our patients.
This position will be part-time, 1-2 days per week, between Monday and Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations as ordered by physician.
- Perform diagnostic and procedural ultrasounds to assist with Interventional Radiology procedures, including biopsies, drain placements, and catheter insertions.
- Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings and communicates findings to the appropriate physician
- Prepare patients for ultrasound exams, ensuring they are comfortable and informed about the procedure.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-resolution images of relevant anatomy.
- Work closely with the interventional radiology team to provide real-time imaging support during procedures.
- Review images for clarity, quality, and accuracy, ensuring appropriate documentation is completed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, sterilized, and calibrated.
- Assist in patient education, answering questions about the procedure and preparing them for the exam.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in ultrasound imaging, with a focus on interventional radiology, venous and vascular ultrasound. Experience with PAD.
- Current ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification or certification through ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) as a registered technologist in Sonography (R.T.(S)) is preferred but not required.
- BLS certification required.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, ultrasound physics, and image interpretation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and team members effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining attention to detail.
