5280 top doctor a few years ago!I specialize in renal cryoablation and embolization for renal cell carcinoma and angiomyelolipoma. Patients are always nervous about a procedure, no matter how minimally invasive. After the procedure has been completed, they are usually pleasantly surprised. The anticipation was much worse than the actual procedure. Then, to experience relief from whatever ails them with just a small puncture site/incision, is why I truly enjoy what I do.
We have an amazing team of providers at Colorado Advanced Endovascular and we will continue to develop a reputation as caring, skilled interventionalists within the community.

I was presented the John Faunce Roach Prize for Excellence in Radiology, received the University of Colorado’s Fellow Teaching Award and earned 5280 magazine’s top doctor award twice. I am also a Society of Interventional Radiology scholarship recipient and previously served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology at the University of Colorado.I am an Interventional Radiologist specializing in minimally invasive techniques to treat vascular diseases, enhance blood flow, improve wound healing, and alleviate walking pain. I also employ these techniques to reduce blood flow and deliver targeted therapies to abnormal or enlarged tissues, such as tumors, prostates, and fibroids.
My passion for Interventional Radiology began in medical school, where I earned the Dean’s Award for Academic Achievement and the John Faunce Roach Award for Excellence in Radiology. As a resident and fellow, I quickly demonstrated a talent for minimally invasive procedures and teaching, earning the Fellow’s Teaching Award before being recruited to join the staff.
Early in my career, I played a key role in establishing a Hepatobiliary Multidisciplinary Group, where I served as co-chair. I was a pioneering figure in early vascular stroke care, performing the first mechanical stroke thrombectomy at my hospital.
I have held numerous clinical roles in vascular disease, women’s health, oncology, dialysis, and trauma. I served as Division Chief of Interventional Radiology, where I led the development of a multidisciplinary vascular team focused on both traumatic and non-traumatic aortic disease. Throughout my career, I have published articles, contributed a book chapter, delivered numerous lectures, and trained many classes of residents and fellows. I have been recognized multiple times as a “Top Doc” by 5280 Magazine.
Currently, I am the Medical Director of Colorado Advanced Endovascular. My passion lies in elevating those around me, striving to make the lives of patients incrementally better.

I enjoy the opportunity to treat patients of all ages and genders, as well as problems involving nearly all organ systems and Colorado Advanced Endovascular offers a full spectrum of outpatient interventional radiology procedures, with an emphasis on vascular disease, interventional oncology, musculoskeletal interventions and embolization.
At our partner hospital, I was part of the expert team that performed a life-saving, minimally invasive procedure to treat a complex blood clot, demonstrating my commitment to advanced, patient-centered care. My passion for Interventional Radiology began as a medical student while completing the Society of Interventional Radiology Medical Student Research fellowship at UCLA. I was fortunate to train under amazing mentors at UCLA and have published peer reviewed journal articles and a book chapter in a major interventional radiology textbook. My area of expertise and special interest is embolization procedures. I am particularly excited about the promise of Genicular Artery Embolization, a novel, minimally invasive procedure that effectively treats knee pain related to osteoarthritis. While a resident and fellow at UCLA, I was fortunate to train under the pioneers of this procedure during the main US clinical trial for genicular artery embolization, which took place at UCLA medical center.
I am also passionate about minimally invasive treatment options for Men’s Health issues, such as prostate artery embolization for benign prostatic hypertrophy. This outpatient procedure is recommended by the Society of Interventional Radiology and the American Urological Association PAE offers an effective, minimally invasive treatment for BPH with minimal side effects and several advantages to surgical alternatives. I also enjoy performing other embolization procedures such as uterine artery embolization, Y-90 radioembolizations, and varicocele embolization. Outside of embolization procedures, I have an interest in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease, venous disease and performing musculoskeletal interventions.
Additionally, I have a particular interest in healthcare innovation, the business of radiology, and device development, which is why I completed an MBA with a focus in healthcare entrepreneurship and management. While completing my MBA, I collaborated with colleagues to develop radiology and interventional radiology iOS apps for the iPhone. I believe the intersection of new technology and medicine holds great promise for our future.

My particular interest within interventional radiology includes treatment of liver disease. This includes both the management of liver cancer using Y90 radioembolization, and microwave ablations, as well as the endovascular management of cirrhosis and hypertension. I believe interventional radiology is a cutting-edge field with rapidly evolving technologies that allow us to treat our patients in a minimally invasive strategy with typically very low risk. Our comprehensive training as interventional radiologists also allows us to treat a variety of conditions across multiple organ systems. This includes everything from peripheral vascular disease to uterine fibroids.
Colorado Advanced Endovascular manages a wide variety of conditions with both conservative and endovascular strategies. As many patients aren’t familiar with our field, I think it’s important to expand interventional radiology services in the Denver area to ensure patients are provided with all treatment options and receive the best care possible!

Interventional radiology is special because you work with multiple body systems. Additionally, it provides diagnostic and therapeutic benefits to patients using different imaging modalities and methods, which can really foster some creative treatment solutions. I love that many of the procedures we perform are also immediately therapeutic, which is encouraging to see a patient have instantaneous improvement in their symptoms.
From a physician assistant’s perspective, I hope our scope of practice continues to grow as we work alongside our physicians to provide comprehensive care to each one of our patients at Colorado Advanced Endovascular.
